Travel tickets

All season passes start on the first day of the month. If purchased by the 15th of the month, the pass is valid starting from the 1st day of the current month; from the 16th onwards, the pass is valid starting from the 1st day of the following month.

The annual workers’ season pass can be purchased either in a single payment or in 2 instalments, each equal to half of the total amount.

Instalment payments are available only online or at Infopoints, under the following conditions:

• the first instalment is valid for 4 months from the start date;
• the second instalment is valid for the next 8 consecutive months after the first instalment expires and can be purchased online in the 15 days before the first instalment expires, or at Infopoints in the 15 days before and after the first instalment expires.

STUDENT PASSES – SCHOOL YEAR 2025 / 2026

The pass can be purchased in a single payment or in two instalments, each equal to half of the total amount.

The instalment option is available under the following conditions:

• The first instalment is valid from 1 September 2025 to 31 December 2025 and can be purchased online, at the Infopoints and at authorised sales outlets.
• The second instalment is valid from 1 January 2026 to 31 August 2026 and can be purchased online from 1 December 2025 to 31 December 2025, or at the Infopoints from 1 December 2025 to 28 February 2026.

UNIVERSITY SPECIAL – ACADEMIC YEAR 2025 / 2026

Students enrolled at a university based in Brescia (University of Brescia, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore – Brescia campus, Santa Giulia Academy of Fine Arts, LABA – Libera Accademia di Belle Arti di Brescia, “Luca Marenzio” Conservatory of Music, and CIELS – School for Higher Education in Socio-Cultural Linguistic Mediation) can purchase the annual pass at half price or discounted ticket packages of 50 rides (valid for 3 months or 6 months) or 100 rides (valid for 9 months).

Passes can be purchased through the online shop or at the Tourism and Mobility Infopoints, upon presentation of a self-certification confirming enrolment in a university course for the new Academic Year.
The pass can start from 1 September, 1 October, 1 November or 1 December.

For first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine, in view of the trial semester replacing the entrance exam, a specific solution has been introduced: purchase in two instalments.

The first instalment can be purchased both online and at the Tourism and Mobility Infopoints and will be valid until 31 January 2026.
The second instalment, available only for students whose enrolment is confirmed for the second semester, can be purchased from 15 January 2026, again via the online shop or at the Infopoints.

PUPILS ANNUAL PASS

Students attending primary or lower secondary schools can travel on the home–school route using both buses and the metro with the Pupils Annual Pass, which allows up to 4 trips per day on school days only.

Please note that validation is mandatory for each trip, otherwise passengers may be subject to a fine.

FAMILY SPECIAL

Children

Children under one metre in height travel free of charge when accompanied by a passenger holding a valid ticket or pass.

Family Discounts

• 2 passes - 10% discount
• 3 passes - 15% discount
• 4 passes - 20% discount
• 5 passes - 40% discount

The discount applies when passes for members of the same household are purchased at the same time.

The discount is applied to passes with the same validity period and start date and cannot be applied to already discounted tickets or passes.

Travel passes that already benefit from reductions or special fares are not eligible for the Family Discount and are not counted when calculating the Family Discount on the purchase of other passes.

The Family Discount can be requested through the online shop or at the Infopoints.

If the purchase is made through the online shop, to activate the pass on the card it is necessary, at the first use, to validate it by holding the card on a validator on the metro or bus for a few seconds until the green light appears.

SPECIAL OVER 60

The Over 60 pass can be used every day and at any time, with some restrictions on weekdays. From Monday to Friday, the following time slots are limited to a maximum of 4 trips per month:

• 7:30 – 9:00
• 13:00 – 14:00

These passes can be purchased at the Group’s Infopoints.

Ticket types

Public transport tickets in Brescia are divided into:

• Tickets with QR Code
• Rechargeable tickets (chip on paper)

Old magnetic stripe paper tickets remain valid and usable until 31 December 2025.

Validation: when and how

When to validate

Validation is always required:

• On buses, when boarding
• On the metro, before crossing the red line on the station floor

Dedicated validators must be used.

If the validator does not work

In case of malfunction or temporary problems, manual validation is allowed. The date and time must be written on the ticket with a pen.

Ticket duration and end of the trip

• Ticket validity starts from the first validation
• 90 minutes from the time of purchase for zone 1 and zone 2
• 100 minutes from the time of purchase for zones 1 + 2
• The journey must end within the ticket validity period
• If the journey ends after the ticket has expired, another ticket must be validated; otherwise a fine may be issued

QR Code Tickets

How to validate them

• bring the ticket close to the green validators
• hold the ticket with the QR code facing upward
• it does not need to be placed on the device; when the green check mark appears on the display, the validation is confirmed

Rechargeable tickets (chip on paper)

Multi-user ticket books and weekly passes are available in rechargeable format (chip on paper). For travel over several days, the same ticket can be reloaded instead of being replaced each time.

How to validate them

Place the multi-user ticket book or weekly pass on the green validators.

How to recharge them

Tickets can be recharged at Infopoint or at the automatic ticket machines in metro stations:

• insert the ticket into the appropriate slot (like a pass)
• select Multi-user or Weekly
• choose the desired option and proceed with the recharge

Online and apps

Tickets can be purchased through:

• Bresciapp! (standard zone 1, zone 2, zones 1+2 / daily zone 1, zones 1+2)
• DropTicket (standard zone 1, zones 1+2 / daily zone 1, zones 1+2)
• MooneyGo (standard zone 1, zone 2, zones 1+2 / daily zone 1, zones 1+2)

Important note: if the purchase is made with Bresciapp!, the ticket cannot be transferred or shared with other devices.

On board buses and in metro stations

• Contactless (Viaggia con un Beep)

It is possible to buy a ticket on board buses and in metro stations using contactless credit or debit cards thanks to the Viaggia con un Beep system.

The Viaggia con un Beep system is also available on buses in Desenzano del Garda.

EMV

• Ticket (zones 1+2 only – 100 minutes)

It is possible to purchase the zones 1+2 ticket valid for 100 minutes on board buses at the cost of €2.50.

The Brescia Mobilità Group has activated a collaboration with a network of authorised sales points throughout Brescia and neighbouring municipalities to make access to public transport services easier.

The electronic card can be requested exclusively at the Brescia Trasporti office in Via Faustinella 29.

The issuing cost of the "Io Viaggio" card is €10.

Integrated travel passes valid on all public transport networks in the Lombardy Region that allow free circulation.

They can be purchased at the Group’s Infopoint.

The issuing cost of the “Io Viaggio” (I travel) card is 10 euro.

Passes can be purchased after requesting the IO VIAGGIO card at the railway station.

IO VIAGGIO OVUNQUE IN LOMBARDIA (I TRAVEL EVERYWHERE IN LOMBARDY)

INTEGRATED TICKETS FOR 1, 2, 3 OR 7 CONSECUTIVE DAYS.

To avoid penalties, tickets must be validated immediately when boarding buses or before accessing the metro station platforms.

If it is not possible to use the validators, manual validation must be carried out, as indicated on the Lombardy Region website which specifies that “…in the case of the Brescia metro, if the validators do not allow the validation of certain formats, the ticket can be validated by hand by writing the day, month and year of use on the ticket…”. Only one manual validation is allowed; if the ticket is validated more than once it is no longer considered valid.

IO VIAGGIO OVUNQUE IN PROVINCIA (I TRAVEL EVERYWHERE IN THE PROVINCE)

Integrated monthly pass € 94,00 valid on all public transport within the province.

IO VIAGGIO IN FAMIGLIA (I TRAVEL WITH MY FAMILY)

Children under 14 travel free when accompanied by an adult family member (parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, brothers or sisters) holding a valid travel pass and the appropriate card.

Families purchasing multiple monthly or annual public transport passes for their minor children are entitled to a 20% discount on the second pass and free travel from the third pass onward.

TRAVEL DISCOUNTS FOR POLICE AND ARMED FORCES

Members of the Police and Armed Forces can travel on buses and the metro with a discounted annual pass (IVOLA), as provided by Regione Lombardia.

INPIÙ INTEGRATED PASSES

With Inpiù integrated tickets and passes it is possible to travel on suburban services and the entire urban network (bus and metro limited to zone 1) with a single travel ticket.

OUTWARD AND RETURN TICKET FOR SCHOOLS

Who it is for

Reserved for school groups and large groups of children and teenagers (for example summer camps or scouts).

What it allows

Two trips on the same day (outward and return).

Cost

The cost and characteristics are the same as a standard single-ride ticket for the relevant zone.

ARRIVA AND APAM RECHARGEABLE TICKETS

How to validate

Validation is contactless: simply bring the ticket close to and place it on the reader of the validators on buses or in metro stations without inserting it.

Validation confirmation

The device confirms validation with the messages: BUON VIAGGIO / CONVALIDA GIÀ EFFETTUATA (HAVE A GOOD TRIP / VALIDATION ALREADY COMPLETED)

Attention

• the ticket must be placed on the reader used for subscription cards
• do not use the contactless reader intended for credit or debit cards

Travelling without a ticket, with a ticket not valid for the route taken, or without proper validation results in an administrative penalty.

Penalties are applied in accordance with Regional Law no. 6/2012 on local public transport and the General Conditions of Transport approved by the Brescia City Council resolution no. 195 of 19 December 2013.

Penalty amounts

The amount depends on when the payment is made:

• €39 if payment is made within 5 days from the notice (reduced penalty)
• €71 if payment is made after 5 days and within 60 days from the notice (€56 penalty + €15 administrative costs)
• €170 full penalty (equal to 100 times the cost of the standard ticket)
• €200 if payment is made after 60 days (€170 penalty + €30 administrative costs)

If the penalty is paid in the reduced amount (cases A and B), the procedure is considered closed and appeals can no longer be submitted, according to Law no. 689 of 24 November 1981.

Payment methods

Fines can be paid:

• at the Tourism and Mobility Infopoint in Via San Bartolomeo 23/C (Monday to Friday 8:00–16:00)
• by postal payment to account number 11796257
• by bank transfer to Brescia Trasporti SpA IBAN IT63 D 08692 54800 0000 0002 8751 indicating the report number and the name of the fined person

Forgotten pass

If the pass is not shown during the inspection but is later proven to be valid, only an administrative fee of €7.50 is required.

If the pass was not issued by Brescia Trasporti, proof must be presented within 5 days at the Tourism and Mobility Infopoint in Via San Bartolomeo 23/C. The €7.50 administrative fee must then be paid.
